Welcome to A Teachable Year!
I’m a longtime teacher who loves quiet mornings, strong coffee, well-loved picture books, long walks, and the kind of 90s music that still feels like home. I believe those small, human comforts matter — in life and in learning — and they quietly shape the calm, thoughtful way I design every resource.
Rooted in stories, play, and gentle interaction, my resources are designed to support language and literacy learning without rushing development — creating spaces where children feel safe, curious, and capable.
With over 20 years of classroom experience, I design low-prep, flexible resources that:
~ invite interaction and hands-on exploration
~ grow language through stories and meaningful repetition
~ adapt naturally to different learning settings
~ support calm, connection, and joy
From book companions and fables to poetry sets and seasonal learning packs, you’ll find thoughtful tools that help create peaceful, purposeful learning rhythms — whether in a classroom, homeschool, or small learning environment.
I believe in teaching that feels warm, simple, and intentional — where small moments matter, routines bring comfort, and language is lived, not rushed.
Let’s make every day a teachable — and cozy — one.
At A Teachable Year, my mission is to support language and literacy learning in ways that feel calm, meaningful, and human.
I believe language grows best when it is lived — through stories, play, conversation, and shared experiences — not rushed, fragmented, or reduced to isolated skills.
My work exists to help educators and families create learning spaces where children feel emotionally safe, curious, and capable, and where language development unfolds with time, intention, and care.
My teaching approach is grounded in story-based, play-based learning that honors children’s natural rhythms and ways of learning.
Through books, oral language, hands-on exploration, and meaningful repetition, I design resources that:
invite interaction, movement, and dialogue
grow language naturally through context and story
adapt to different learning environments
support calm, connection, and joy
These are not scripts or rigid lessons, but flexible experiences that allow educators to observe, respond, and guide with intention.
Some of the most meaningful moments in teaching are quiet ones.
The first time a shy child raises their hand.
The pride of finishing a book together.
The confidence that slowly takes root and grows.
These everyday breakthroughs — small, human, deeply felt — are the reason behind every resource I create.
I hold a degree in English Language Teaching and bring over 20 years of classroom experience across a range of learning settings.
My professional journey includes ongoing learning in:
literacy development
storytelling and oral language
child-centered and play-based education
This background allows me to design resources that are practical, research-informed, and grounded in real classroom experience, while staying true to what matters most: children, connection, and meaningful learning.
At the heart of my work is a belief in gentle, joyful learning — where curiosity is welcomed, routines bring comfort, and language grows through shared stories and moments.
Whether through a puppet, a poem, or a seasonal story, my hope is that these resources bring peace, purpose, and play to your teaching journey.
